Question: From what do the Jews start counting years?
Reply: The Jews date their years from slightly before the creation of Adam (according to their reckoning of those years). Jewish years start from Monday, Oct. 7, 3761 B.C. so currently (August, 1999) the Jewish year is 5759 (I think).
